Weekly Market Summary

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a $1.3 billion lawsuit against Ripple Labs, claiming that they held an unregistered securities sale. Although Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse had announced earlier this week that he had expected the SEC to file a lawsuit—causing the price of XRP to drop — the additional confirmation had a further impact, pushing the price even lower. Meanwhile, three exchanges – CrossTower, Beaxy, and OSL – got a move on delisting the token, and the Bitwise investment fund liquidated its XRP position.

Also, this week, in a previously unannounced move, Pornhub has announced that they’d be accepting crypto for Pornhub Premium. As of now, the option to pay with a credit/debit card has gone missing. Such an adjustment has followed after scandalous allegations that have to do with videos of underaged people as well as women being assaulted.

Pornhub has released an official statement on their website, it says they would only be accepting crypto for Pornhub Premium, including Bitcoin, Tether and Ethereum.

NEO is a Blockchain platform and cryptocurrency. However, it performs far more functions than just being a means of transaction and payment. Similar to Ethereum, the blockchain-based platform allows developers to create smart contracts and dApps. Therefore, many refer to NEO as the Ethereum of China.

NEO was written in C#, however it also supports a variety of programming languages such as Javascript, Java, Python and Go, to perform smart contracts.

Neo also integrates a lot of other cryptocurrencies into its network while most of the other platforms are focusing only on their own currency.
