Visa to launch a new cryptocurrency consultancy service for merchants and banks
Visa has announced the launch of new consulting and advisory services to assist its clients in navigating the world of cryptocurrency.
The company announced that its crypto advisory practice, which is part of its consulting and analytics division, will provide guidance to financial institutions, retailers, and other businesses on topics ranging from implementing crypto features to exploring nonfungible tokens to developing wallets for central bank digital currencies.
According to Visa, part of banks’ interest in cryptocurrencies is in remaining competitive. Citing a recent Visa in-house research, “40 percent of crypto owners questioned believe they would be likely or very likely to switch their primary bank to one that offers crypto-related goods in the next 12 months.”
Bank of Columbia partnered with Gemini to offer crypto to its clients
Starting from December 14th, the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange will partner with the largest Colombian bank Bancolombia.
It will allow clients of the Colombian bank a seamless on- and off-ramp to trade bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) through the Gemini exchange, and buy them directly from their bank accounts.
In a press release, Gemini stated that they perceived the new project as “an important step toward the strategic expansion of Gemini’s presence in Latin America.” They hope that cryptocurrencies “can play an important role in the development of Latin America as interest in blockchain and innovative technologies proliferates throughout the region.”
- Spot trading: At the spot trading front, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) have become top dogs. Crypto.com Coin (CRO) and Polygon (MATIC) were pushed to third and fourth places.
- Derivatives: Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) have become the most traded currencies as to trading derivatives. Solana (SOL) is following these two head to head with XRP (XRP) and The Sandbox (SAND) taking fourth and fifth places.
