Hey there! 👋
Markets pushed higher, a few projects reshuffled their economics, and the macro picture stayed tense heading into the weekend. Here’s what happened this week:
quick weekly news
Bitcoin loses $80K as Solana leads the majors higher ahead of Warsh’s Jackson Hole debut
Bitcoin traded just under $80,000 in Asian hours Friday after a nearly 2% gain over 24 hours and an overnight run to $81,280, with traders positioning ahead of Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s first Jackson Hole keynote.

Jackson Hole is the Kansas City Fed’s annual Wyoming symposium where the chair’s speech has a history of moving markets. Warsh has given traders little on his rate intentions so far, making this the first real signal before the September 16 FOMC meeting.
Spot ETFs are carrying the bid. U.S. products have absorbed $2.8B across eight consecutive sessions, the longest inflow streak since April. August has already cleared $3B, making it the strongest month of 2026 with one trading day left.
SOL ripped more than 4% to nearly $101 and 20% over seven days. ETH added just over 1% to $2,492, XRP nearly 2% to $1.43, and BNB more than 1% to $714. The weekly picture is broader: ETH and XRP both up close to 11%, DOGE 16%, and HYPE 12%, per goodcryptoX data.
Futures price in a 35% chance of a September rate hike, a hawkish setup that hasn’t stopped Bitcoin from adding 9% in a week. That gap is the key tension heading into Warsh’s keynote.
Ethena surges as a buyback vote and VC unlock overhaul improve the token’s outlook
ENA surged 23% over 24 hours to $0.17 after the Ethena Foundation announced a sweeping overhaul of the token’s economics, targeting two issues that have weighed on ENA since launch: selling pressure from early-investor unlocks and uncertainty over how much of the protocol’s value actually accrues to the token.

The changes are significant. The foundation bought out the remaining locked tokens from seed investors who had been selling over the past nine months and will accelerate remaining original investor unlocks, ending the monthly VC release schedule entirely. Team tokens remain subject to existing vesting.
At the same time, ENA holders are voting on a fee switch that would route protocol revenue into programmatic buybacks. Once USDe circulation hits $7.5B, 95% of net revenue from Ethena-branded businesses would go toward buying ENA on the open market. The foundation is also formalizing that substantially all intellectual property and economic upside from the protocol belongs to the ecosystem rather than Ethena Labs equity holders, an agreement expected to be published in October.
The backdrop makes the timing meaningful. USDe supply has fallen from a peak near $15B in October to below $5B, as the funding rate environment that drove early growth cooled.

Ethena has since been diversifying: a $1B facility with FalconX channels USDe backing into institutional loans, Janus Henderson invested in ENA and is exploring distribution, and Coinbase launched a savings product built on Ethena.
LayerZero launches trading infrastructure for crypto and tokenized markets, ZRO surges
LayerZero is moving beyond moving assets between chains and into the markets where those assets trade. ATLAS, Aggregated Trading Liquidity and Settlement, combines trade matching, clearing, settlement and risk management into one system built on Zero, LayerZero’s own blockchain.
Markets could span spot crypto, perpetual futures, stocks, bonds, commodities and prediction markets. ZRO surged more than 30% on the announcement, trading above $1.15.

The launch addresses a gap that stablecoins and tokenization are widening: more financial assets are moving onchain, but existing market infrastructure, built with separate systems for matching, clearing and settlement, wasn’t designed for assets that trade around the clock. ATLAS won’t have its own trading interface; instead, venues plug into the infrastructure while keeping their own front end and customer relationships.
Two configurations are planned: Open ATLAS for crypto apps and prediction markets, and Institutional ATLAS for exchanges and financial firms that want custom market rules on the same underlying engine. ZRO gets a more direct link to trading activity, venues can stake the token for fee rebates, and 75% of remaining fees go toward buying and burning ZRO.
The expansion comes after a rough stretch for LayerZero’s core cross-chain business, following the $292M Kelp DAO exploit in April that targeted its bridge infrastructure.
Strategy cuts net leverage to near zero as cash nearly matches its convertible debt
Strategy has effectively zeroed out its net leverage, building $6.69B in dollar liquidity against roughly $6.75B in total debt, leaving a $60M gap between the two.
The company calculates net leverage by subtracting dollar assets from debt and dividing the remainder by the value of its Bitcoin reserve, currently around $66B. With the ratio now near zero, the metric suggests Strategy’s non-Bitcoin assets are almost sufficient to cover its obligations without touching BTC.
The dollar reserve now stands at $5.1B, enough to cover about four years of the roughly $1.7B in annual preferred stock dividends. A separate $1.59B cash pool gives the company additional flexibility for BTC purchases, stock repurchases, debt repayment, or dividend payments.
STRC, Strategy’s variable-rate perpetual preferred stock, has rallied more than 35% from its June low and now trades at $97.67, still below its $100 par value. Bitcoin’s rebound toward $80,000 and ongoing STRC repurchases have supported the recovery.

Candlestick patterns explained – the ultimate guide for crypto traders

Every price move leaves a trace on the chart. Knowing how to read those traces is what separates traders who react to the market from those who anticipate it.
Here’s what the full guide covers:
- Reversal patterns broken down: Hammer, Engulfing, Three White Soldiers, Dark Cloud Cover, Doji variants and more, what each one signals and how to confirm it before entering a trade;
- Bearish and bullish setups side by side: how the same pattern logic flips depending on where it appears in a trend;
- How to use candlestick patterns in practice: combining them with trendlines, Moving Averages, RSI, and other indicators for higher-probability entries.
