BTC managed to cross $40K boundary again $40K, SHIB up 22% after CoinbasePro Listing

Weekly Market Summary

Bitcoin was stalling for most of Monday, Jun, 14, before making another run at $40,000. The world’s largest cryptocurrency by market value is holding support above $36,000 and has remained about 10% up over the past seven days. 

Some analysts are optimistic about a decisive break above $40,000 while others prefer to see stronger signs of upside momentum.

The price of Shibu Inu (SHIB) soared 22% on Jun, 16, after Coinbase Pro listed the token, according to Nomics. 

SHIB value rose from $0.00000725 to $0.00000907 in the 90 minutes following the Coinbase Pro listing announcement.

That makes it the 19th most valuable crypto, according to price aggregator Nomics. SHIB’s current Market Cap is now $3.2B and is the top gainer among the biggest 100 coins.

Fox Television has announced the launch of a $100 million fund to invest in non-transferable tokens (NFTs), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In May, Fox announced the creation of a Blockchain Creative Labs business unit that will focus on NFT operations with the launch of a platform to sell digital goods. Animation studio Bento Box joined the deal.

“Our long-standing relationship with the creative community will allow us to use technology to connect brands and producers with fans in exciting new ways,” Bento Box CEO Scott Greenberg told AdWeek.

Mining

El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, has instructed the head of LaGeo, a state-owned geothermal power company, to present a plan for bitcoin mining facilities. 

“We have the opportunity to mine bitcoin on cheap, clean, 100 percent renewable, carbon-free volcano energy,” Naib Bukele said.

El Salvador has 23 active volcanoes. According to a LaGeo report, 20% of El Salvador’s electricity is generated from geothermal sources. The company has a resource potential of 644 MW.
