Bloomberg’s Senior ETF analyst Erik Balchuna said the US-based crypto exchange Coinbase may soon add support for Bitcoin ETFs.

At the Breakpoint conference that took place in Lisbon, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian said that his venture capital firm Seven Seven Six and Solana Ventures are committing $100 million to Web3 and decentralized social projects using the Solana blockchain.

Alexis Ohanyan believes that Solana can support social networks on a large scale, and his vast experience in working with projects at an early stage can help create such products.

New York acquires its own cryptocurrency now

New York received its own cryptocurrency – NYCCoin. The idea of naming the currency after the city belongs to CityCoins, which launched a Miami token in August.The project CityCoins works on the Stacks protocol, which enables smart contracts on Bitcoin.

As to CityCoins announcement, NewYorkCityCoin (NYCCoin) provides new ways for people to support New York City and grow its crypto treasury while earning Stacks (STX) and Bitcoin (BTC).

CityCoins reported that they activated NYCCoin mining this week after NYC’s Mayor-elect Eric Adam said that he wants to have a CityCoin for NYC like Miami’s.

“We’re glad to welcome you to the global home of Web3! We’re counting on tech and innovation to help drive our city forward” Adams wrote in response to a CityCoins post.

Apple CEO invested in cryptocurrencies

Apple CEO Tim Cook has stated that he invests in cryptocurrencies and had been interested in them for a while.

“I think it’s reasonable to own it as part of a diversified portfolio,” Apple CEO said at the DealBook Online Summit, without elaborating on the amount of his crypto investments.

He also added that the company now doesn’t need to implement blockchain technologies and buy crypto with corporate funds as investments.

• Spot trading: At the spot trading front, Ethereum (ETH) and Jasmy (JASMY) have become top dogs. SHIBA INU (SHIB) and Bitcoin (BTC) were pushed to third and fourth places.
• Derivatives: Cosmos (ATOM) and SHIBA INU (SHIB) have become the most traded currencies as to trading derivatives. Bitcoin (BTC) is following these two head to head with Chainlink (LINK) and Raydium (RAY) taking fourth and fifth places.
